Peyton's room
I realized that I never posted pictures of Peyton's room...so here they are. It was finished 1st, but I just recently finished the stars and rope above his bed. His room is done! His room was really fun to decorate and try to find things that would match. I totally didn't expect him to choose a cowboy theme, but it's turned out to be one of my favorite rooms. I tried to do it a little "bigger boy" so he could keep it this way for awhile. I think the best thing about his room is the paint. I love the ragged look on his walls. So glad to have the kids rooms are done.

Love this nightlight-you can get it at surprise...Target! Sandee introduced this to me and I love it!

Connor's new room
Our process of musical rooms is finally OVER!!!! So let me break it down for you: Connor moved to Peyton's room, Peyton moved to Connor's room, Peyton moved downstairs, Connor moved back to his "old" room, Sadie got Peyton's "old" room and Connor's current room when she was born. Confused? So am I. You might be asking why did you move the boys in the 1st place (switch rooms) well-I found that Peyton's old furniture (now Connor's furniture) would fit better in the room Connor 1st had when we moved into our house. So about 9 months ago, I moved all the big boy furniture by myself one day while Shane was at work. The placement of the furniture was much better. I always knew the room that Connor was in would eventually become the nursery and Peyton would move downstairs. That day has finally come with the finishing of Connor's room! Connor has been super patient while we finished Peyton's room downstairs and then worked on Sadie's room. Well his turn finally came and here are the results:

He choose a sports theme (big surprise), and he loves it! I had the idea to do the stripes around his room and choose colors from his bedding. I know some of our family (my mom and sister) were not sure about the stripes when I told them, but they both assured me they turned out darling and were nothing like they had pictured. Just a tip-if you ever want to do stripes, paint whatever color the wall is next to the stripe on the edge of the tape once it's on the wall. We did that with our blue tape and had no bleeding, but didn't do it on the red stripe because we had "frog" brand tape which we had really good luck with in Sadie's room with no bleeding. Not So Much in Connor's room. What would have taken 5 mins to paint the tan paint along the edge of the tape where we were painting red became a 3 hr (I kid you not!) project for Shane to use a tiny brush to fix the bleeding. That's what you get when you have to paint 5-count em' 5 coats of paint for the red. Shane was pretty funny and told me "NO more stripes." I think I've had my fill as well!

{Hair}
I just had to post some of the crazy hair-do's that I have been playing with lately. Sadie's hair is so crazy-in a good way. About a week ago she let me play with her hair while she sat in her bumbo chair. We did a faux hawk, which is the do she had when we first saw her. It was so cute! Her hair is a little long for that hair do, but still so funny. Her bangs are getting so long, it's driving me crazy! I want to grow her bangs out, so I am trying to keep her bangs out of her eyes. Today I was able to finally put her hair up into an elastic on top on her head-so funny!!!
How can you NOT just melt when you see that cute, chubby face?

Sadie's room
Sadie's room is finally done! It's taken a couple of weeks to let the paint on her shelf dry before I could decorate, and then a few days to get everything hung up and back into place. I am super pleased with how her room turned out. It's really girly and soft. I love the stripes and shelf in her room, they are just what I imagined in my mind! A cute room for a cute little girl.......
Here is her changing table with her headbands above it-she loves to look at all the colors. I found the two pictures above her hooks at Ross just after we finished painting. I was randomly browsing and spotted those two, and they happen to be from the same line that her bedding is from. The best part? They were only $5.99! Love Ross!
The little ceramic toe-shoes in this picture are a gift my best friend, Heather and I received from her Mom when we went away to college and were roommates and on drill team together.
The little ballet bunny in this picture is a gift to me from my college drill team advisor. It's so fun to add these little touches that mean so much to me from my past.
The green wooden "S" was a gift from my sister Hollie. It matches her room perfectly-I love it!

Here's the little lady herself-asleep while I was doing the photo shoot.

My sister, Hollie and I made these bow organizers for our little girls. We used the open stock frames from Hobby Lobby and stapled coordinating ribbon on the back to attach the bows and flowers to. I have Sadie's hanging up behind her door.
I am not loving this bookcase, however it will have to do for now. The cute lamp is a gift to Sadie from her Grandma Janet. I love that it is glass and pink!!

New washer and dryer?
So our FREE Roper dryer....yes I said free and Roper, is about to die. Betcha didn't know there was such a brand. When we moved into our 1st home we had a friend who had a friend who had also just bought a new home. Well that new home had a brand new Roper washer and dryer with it and they had also just bought a name brand washer and dryer. So long story short we got the Roper washer and dryer for FREE! We were totally grateful and super excited to have our OWN washer and dryer and not have to pay for laundry. Fast forward 7 years and the Roper washer has long since died. It sprung a leak not long after we got it. So our sturdy Roper dryer is on it's last leg. It generally takes me two dry cycles to fully dry a load, sometimes 3 if it's towels and a full load. So we are in the market for a new dryer. My questions is this...do I just get a new dryer and forgo the long awaited "matching set". Does it really matter??? I think not. Or.....do I get a new washer and dryer knowing that our current washer is at least 6 years old? And, for that matter do I get a top loader or spring for the new front loaders? My laundry room is just off the kitchen (which I love), but it is quite small (which I don't love). But hey-I'm grateful for a laundry room. So what is your opinion?

Isn't she sweet?
Isn't she a sweetie? I can't even express how much I love this little girl. She is the BEST baby! She smiles and coos all day long. You just have to look at her and she breaks into a wide grin and gives you the sweetest little coo. I melt when I get her up in the morning or when she wakes up from a nap. I'm just so happy to see her again. She takes great naps during the day and sleeps 11-12 hours at night. What about her hair? It is SO crazy!!! It's a little curly, but not enough to stay curly all day. When she gets up from a nap...oh my...crazy hair!! Her hair has grown just enough that it's hard to tame, but still too short to look cute in pigtails. I just had to post these and say I love you so much Sadie! I have been dreaming about you for a long time.
Love,
Mommy
