Sweet little Sadie

Just some new pictures of Sadie. She is getting so big and turned 8 weeks old on Sunday. She goes to the doctor this next week and we are anxious to see how big she is. Her cheeks are getting so chubby and cute. She has started sleeping about 7 hrs at night, which is so great! I couldn't ask for a better sleeper. She doesn't fuss very much, and only cries when she is hungry or has an upset tummy. Sadie's hair has grown a little bit, which is good and bad. Good that it is growing, but bad because it makes it a little harder for her to wear headbands. They just slip all over her head because she has so much hair. I've found that the little barrettes that snap shut look really cute with her bangs pulled over. Not to worry-I did just order her a bunch of bows from The Pixie Patch that I can't wait to try on her since her head is bigger. Sadie is quick to give a smile and really responds to Me, Shane, and the kids when we try to get her to smile. She smiles so big that her eyes almost disappear! She loves to play under the little gym that Hollie and Jeff let us borrow. She will lay there for about 20 mins just kicking her legs and looking at the toys. Don't you love the baby legs Jenni made for her? So cute!!! Thanks Jen! We are so grateful for adoption, and so grateful to have Sadie! We love you Sadie!

Kim and Sandee

These pictures are long overdue.... This is of me, Kim and Sandee. Kim came to Utah to visit in Nov. and of course we had to try to include her in bunko since she used to be part of the group. I've known Kim since high school when we were in seminary together. Kim and I were roomates in college and dated and married friends from college. What fun times. We've lived by each other at the University married housing, did morning devotionals with each other over the internet when I first moved to Iowa (that was when the internet was brand new and what a concept-we thought we were so cool and high tech), scrapbooked countless times, and just remained good friends despite distance. Even though we don't talk as often as I'd like, when we do catch up it's like no time has passed at all. Kim has been with me through some rough times and I know who she kissed at Snow. I love ya Kim!!!!
Sandee and I have also known each other since we were seniors in high school and we were in dance co. together. I was always amazed by her dance talent (she is awesome in ballroom!) Sandee and I lost touch since she went to BYU, but Kim pulled us back together through wedding showers, baby showers and now bunko. I love Sandee! She is so genuine and full of love. I am so grateful to call her one of my friends.
Both of these women are great examples to me. I truly treasure our friendships.

Connor

Just some funnies of Connor and I....I love this kid.

Sledding with the Kjars

Last week we went to Matt and Becky's (Shane's cousin) house in Lehi to see their new playroom and take the kids sledding. We had so much fun! Matt and Becky are such great friends and relatives. Thanks guys for dinner and for having us! They have 4 darling boys-three of them are about the same age as Peyton and Connor. Matt and his brother built a playroom in their basement and Becky was the brains behind the painting. I wish I had taken some pictures of it. They framed it in as a pirate ship and a castle. It has a zip line with a rock wall, a ship, a slide and not to mention a sweet flat screen TV with a Wii hooked up to it. It was awesome! I don't think Peyton and Connor wanted to ever leave. Anyway-we had such a fun time and can't wait to see them again.

Christmas 2008

We had a really great Christmas this year. It was fun to be at our home this year. We trade every other year with Shane's family. This year was extra special since we have Sadie. It was fun to have Santa bring a few girl things to our house. The boys loved Christmas and were so excited to have Santa come. We heard "I want that for Christmas" while watching TV for at least 2 months before Christmas. The boys both changed their minds about a million times. Connor wanted the Bakugan playset, which Santa brought to him. Peyton kept wavering on what he wanted, but ultimately got a keyboard and loves it!!! The boys got a Wii from Santa this year and we have all had a blast with it. The ultimate bargin present that Shane and I gave the boys was an air hockey table that we got for .......get this $25! I found it on a blog this past summer and my friend Katie's husband picked them up for us at Sears. Gotta love the clearance. Shane was very skeptical of the $25 air hockey table, and wondered why I was wasting my time, but come on....$25? Anyway, it turned out to be a great find and is really nice. We took the kids train table out of our playroom and the air hockey is now in it's place. Sadie got a couple of dolls for Christmas and some sponge rollers that we are hoping to use soon. Shane got a watch and a memory foam mattress topper from me. He gave me clothes, shoes, and some bath stuff. Overall it was such a fun Christmas and so fun to see the kids so excited. The boys got robes with their PJ's this year which has been so funny. I always wanted a robe as a little girl, and the boys seem to like to snuggle up in them after their showers. Christmas was fun, crazy, full of family get-togethers, but I must admit I am glad to finally get the Christmas tree down and start getting my house back together and the laundry under control. We are ready for 2009!

Sweet Sadie

Wow-these past two weeks have been, crazy and wonderful! Sadie is darling! We are having so much fun with her. She had a rough few night at first, but is now getting into a really good routine. I only get up with her twice during the night! She really is a great baby and only cries when she is hungry. Peyton and Connor are thrilled with her! When Peyton comes home from school the first thing he does is wash his hands so he can come hold Sadie. Connor loves her as well and frequently come up to her throughout the day to give her a kiss on her forehead. Sadie has Shane wrapped around her little finger. He just loves to hold her and I can tell he is a great daddy to this little one. I am in love. What more can I say? Sadie has the sweetest disposition and has brought such a sweet spirit and calmness into our home. I am having such fun dressing her and fussing over a little princess. I can't say thank-you enough for all the visits, well-wishes, and presents that have been given to us. We are so thankful for adoption and the miracle that Sadie is.                                 This is Peyton holding Sadie's hand. You can tell how little tiny she is!
