Connor's new room

Our process of musical rooms is finally OVER!!!! So let me break it down for you: Connor moved to Peyton's room, Peyton moved to Connor's room, Peyton moved downstairs, Connor moved back to his "old" room, Sadie got Peyton's "old" room and Connor's current room when she was born. Confused? So am I. You might be asking why did you move the boys in the 1st place (switch rooms) well-I found that Peyton's old furniture (now Connor's furniture) would fit better in the room Connor 1st had when we moved into our house. So about 9 months ago, I moved all the big boy furniture by myself one day while Shane was at work.  The placement of the furniture was much better. I always knew the room that Connor was in would eventually become the nursery and Peyton would move downstairs. That day has finally come with the finishing of Connor's room! Connor has been super patient while we finished Peyton's room downstairs and then worked on Sadie's room. Well his turn finally came and here are the results:

He choose a sports theme (big surprise), and he loves it! I had the idea to do the stripes around his room and choose colors from his bedding. I know some of our family (my mom and sister) were not sure about the stripes when I told them, but they both assured me they turned out darling and were nothing like they had pictured.  Just a tip-if you ever want to do stripes, paint whatever color the wall is next to the stripe on the edge of the tape once it's on the wall. We did that with our blue tape and had no bleeding, but didn't do it on the red stripe because we had "frog" brand tape which we had really good luck with in Sadie's room with no bleeding. Not So Much in Connor's room. What would have taken 5 mins to paint the tan paint along the edge of the tape where we were painting red became a 3 hr (I kid you not!) project for Shane to use a tiny brush to fix the bleeding. That's what you get when you have to paint 5-count em' 5 coats of paint for the red. Shane was pretty funny and told me "NO more stripes." I think I've had my fill as well!

Hey Ro, I LOVE the stripes. You know how I love stripes!!! Contemplating this for Easton's room but I promised myself I would not do any painting on our nice new walls. Still thinking about it.

Well done Ro, the stripes are a winner in my book! It's really cute! {and if anyone understands your reasons or no reasons for moving your kids all around to different rooms and back and forth... I'm sure you know it's me! LOL}

We learned the "no bleeding" trick right before we did a red wall in our kitchen. The lines come out perfect!! I love Conner's room. You have a good eye for color and what goes where. Great Job!!
