ok, so once again I was tagged. This, however is a short one, so I will participate.

Here are the rules: each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.

at the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and post their names; then goes to their blog, leaves them a comment by letting them know that they've been tagged and invites them to read your blog.

Here goes:

1. I am a big sleeper. I need AT LEAST 8 hours of sleep. Truly I do better with like 9-10 hours of sleep. My husband knows I am NOT a morning person and is usually nice enough to just leave me alone and sleep when he goes to work. Having to get Peyton on the bus at 8:00am really puts a cramp in my style because we have to get up much earlier than that to have him ready. Oh the days of sleeping in.....I miss them.

2. I have webbed toes on my right foot. Two of my toes are partially webbed half way up. I have always been super self-consious of this part of my anatomy. As a teenager I usually tired to find sandals that would cover my toes (how sad!). When Shane and I were dating it was getting pretty serious and I thought I needed to alert him to my "condition". When I told him I had something to tell him he thought it was pretty serious, I am pretty sure he just laughed when I told him. I was totally serious and quite relieved when he thought it was so silly. I have pretty much overcome my "toe shyness" and don't really care about my toes too much. Just so you know I have endured a ton of teasing from my brothers over my toes, oh you know "Hey Ro we can take care of those toes right now with a knife" followed by a shreiking "what???"

3. I don't like to sleep with the doors open. Not even the doors to our closet and our bathroom. Totally freaks me out. I had a bad experience at Laura Hodges house once at a sleepover. We were sleeping in her parents room (can't remember why or where her parents slept that night). Anyway from where I was sleeping I could see straight into their bathroom (same floorplan in their master bedroom as my parents) I swear in the middle of the night I looked into the bathroom from the bed and I saw the sacriest skeloten face ever! It was like in Indiana Jones-Raiders of the lost ark at the end when they are opening the ark and the "angles" are flying around and then their faces turn into a horrible skeloten-just like that! Eewwww-still freaks me out!

4. I have used Tres Semme mousse on my hair since high school. I heart Tres Semme. It really is the best mousse and for the $$ you can't beat the price.

5. My favorite all time hair-do is long permed hair. Don't you wish it would come back in style? All you had to do is take a gob of that Tres Semme mousse and then scrunch your hair dry with your fingers and a hair dryer-really the only part of my hair I had to curl was bangs. Lest you are worried that I had a "Utah Claw", never fear, I never let my bangs get to those heights. Ahh-what a hairstyle, so fast and easy!

6. I love fast food. I wish I didn't, but I really, really do. Some of my favs are: Nachos Bell Grande at Riverton Taco Bell ordered past 11pm when they are "short staffed" (hee, hee), 2 cheeseburger meal with no onions at McDonalds, Crispy Chicken Salad with ranch dressing at Artic Circle, and last but certainly not least Sammies chicken flatbread sandwiches at Quiznos with a cup of Cheddar Broccoli soup. Yum!

Easter 2008

so I'm getting a little smarter when it comes to downloading pictures. Jacy taught me that you can download 5 at a time, but I can't get them to seperate into my message, so we are back to photos all at the top, but more quantity. I really need a blogging 101 class.

Easter 2008 was pretty chill at our house. The kids woke up and loved their easter baskets. They both got baseball pants (which Connor would wear everyday if they were clean-that kids LOVES baseball, I think he has seen Sandlot at least 100 times and can quote numerous lines from the movie like "what, what?" or "you play ball like a girl" quite comical if you've seen the movie and have then seen him do his "lines"-ok off that tangent), a game for their gameboys/DS,candy, and then they each got a pair of crocs for spring. They were in heaven! After looking at a lot of other blogs I love the idea of the easter bunny coming on Saturday and reserving Sunday talking and thinking about the real reason we celebrate Easter- The Resurrection of our Savior. We may be doing that next year in our house!
As you can see the boys looked darling for church in their Easter clothes and were really giving me a hard time getting their picture taken. The are so funny. After church we went up to my parents for a nice Easter dinner that was so yummy. It was fun to see my siblings (that could come over). All in all a great holiday!

more Kauai pics

Some of these pictures may look a little familiar to some (ahem-kim)The first one is when we went to the awesome restaurant called the Beach House that is in between Poipu and the spouting horn. It is set right on the beach and has an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately we didn't get reservations at sunset because we could never decide what to do in advance (nice in some ways), anyways, we got there after the sun went down, but we couldn't have had a nicer table in the restaurant! We seriously were right next to the open window looking out onto this beautiful green grass and then the ocean. It was breathtaking. I wish I was a good nighttime photographer (anytime for that matter), but seriously it was so pretty. The food was soooo good! If you are ever in Kauai-go to this restaurant. Very pricey but worth the money. We didn't go there last time we were in Kauai and after hearing about it from Craig and Kim and Jeff and Rachel, we regretted not going. It's consistenly rated the #1 restaurant in Kauai year after year-so go if you ever get the chance and call ahead for a sunset reservation.
The next picture is of us at the "Fantasy Island" waterfall where they go over it and yell "da plane, da plane!". It wasn't very far from Lihue (where the airport is) and it was very pretty.
The next one is of us at the top of Wiamea Canyon. That was a really good day! We went up there with our friends Bruce and Holly (who were on the island at the same time) and Holly (aka hollakala) took some amazing photos (this is not one of them) I will post those when I get them. The view was amazing. We drove further into the island from this lookout to another lookout where you can see the NaPali coast from 4000 feet up. It was another breath taking moment because when we got to the top there was all this fog rolling over the trail into Wiamea Canyon from the NaPali coast so we couldn't see down to the bottom of the NaPali where the ocean was. We were kind of bummed at first but it was cool because it was so green and lush and it looked like gorilla's in the mist. After we had been there about 30 mins or so the fog cleared in like 60 seconds and we could see the NaPali coast 4000 feet below us through this lush green valley and the blue ocean. It was amazing! Probably my favorite view of the trip. I will post pictures of that when I get them from Holly.
The last picture that I posted is one of the sunsets that I caught with my camera. I was down on the beach by myself at around 6:00 PM enjoying the weather when I noticed all these people coming down with their cameras and sitting right where I was. It took a minute for me to realize that I was sitting facing the sunset and that I had about 10 mins to run back to our room and grab our camera to capture an amazing Kauai sunset. It was so pretty! Well worth my haul back up to our room!
Ahhh-Kauai, I miss it terribly already, and my tan has faded. If not for pictures it wouldn't seem like we really went. I seriously love it there!

so random

could I be more random and dorky? I should be updating my blog about easter, more Hawaii pics, but no sadly I sit wasting my time on the computer surfing blogs only to find out that I am a way sloooow typer (is that even a word?). And so, hopefully I can find something more meaningful to do with my time.

Speed test

Kauai 2008

ok, here is the first batch of pictures. I can't post too many at once because my computer takes sooooo long to download pictures. In case you haven't been there...Kauai has a lot of roosters that are wild. Shane and I forgot this tidbit at our first night there slept with the windows open because it smelled so good and the warm air was so nice compared to freezing SLC, so we got woken up at 2 AM our first night there to a rooster crowing. What? We promptly shut the window and went back to sleep.

These next pictures are from the 1st morning we were there. We were so tired from traveling and a 3 hr delay in SLC that caused us to miss our connection in Oahu, that we got in pretty late to Lihue. Anyway we just couldn't stay in bed, we were so excited to see beautiful Kauai. We went to a beach not far from our hotel (we stayed on Poipu) and watched the sun coming up. I love, love, love Kauai. It's so pretty!

Here is our 1st sunset in Kauai, we kind of missed getting a picture of it because we were driving, but you can see the last little bit of light...notice how white we still are. This was after sunless tanning spray. Shane and I just white. I used SPF 45 the whole time and still came away with some color and got burned on my shoulders. I can't imagine how red I would have been if I hadn't kept the sunscreen on constantly. I love the sun, but it does not love me back.

Peyton lost a tooth

Peyton finally lost one of his front teeth after it hung on for weeks! I really was about to call the dentist and see if he could pull it because it would just hang there and he didn't want us to pull it. Our cousin Shana suggested putting dental floss around it so the "x" of the floss was in the back and then pull both ends of the floss at the same time. On Sunday night (3/16/08) Peyton let us do that and....pop his tooth flew out! Great suggestion! It was fun that he lost his tooth on St. Patricks Dad Eve b/c the tooth fairy (thanks to some nice neighbors providing the tooth fairy with change for a $20 at 10PM) gave Peyton 5 shiny gold dollar coins. (man-the cost of the tooth fairy has really gone up-however the tooth fairy usually only gives $1, but come on it was a front tooth!) He was thrilled and kept saying that either the tooth fairy wanted to remind him it was St. Patricks Day or the Leprachanus took over for the tooth fairy that day. What an imagination! Congratulations Peyton!

I've been down but not out....

so my computer decided to crash oh...about two days after my last post. Alas, it is still broken and I complain about it everyday. My poor husband is probably very tired of hearing my rantings. Luckily my parents said I could use their computer, so here I sit at there house trying to get a million things done online that I didn't realize I used the computer for until you no longer have the use of one in your own home. Oh how dependent I have become!
Last week we spend 7 beautiful days in Kauai! It was the best vacation! The weather couldn't have been better. It did not rain once while we were there and the temps were in the 80's everyday. I will have to do a serious post with pictures when I am up and running again (hopefully soon). If you are looking for the perfect tropical vacation...try Kauai, you will love it. I got a super cute new toe ring that says "KAUAI" on it, it's a real touristy thing, but so cute. I love it!
On Wednesday of this week I had our RS B-day party celebration for Enrichment. It went so good. Our theme was Home, Family, and "Purse"onal Enrichment. We decorated with pink, black and silver and had about 50 different purses decorating the tables in the colors we chose. We had tissue paper coming out of them with balloons tied in the middle of each table. We also sprinkled red, pink and white M&M's around each table, and each place setting had a pink plate. We served chicken salad croissants, spinach strawberry salad, and then had a chocolate fountain for dessert. It was so yummy. My committee did such a great job on the B-day party! We had the RS president give a talk about different "bags" women carry and how we don't really know what's on the inside of someones bag and liken it unto ourselves that we don't know what's on the inside of others, etc. It was so great. We then played a game kind of like let's make a deal where the ladies had to hold up items in their purses (we told them to bring them) and they got a prize if they were the 1st to hold it up. Some of the items were: a police ticket, a child's toy, a prescription med, mouthwash, etc. Anyway we had a really good response to the night. I am so glad it is over!!
We are almost done with our adoption profile and hopefully will be approved next week sometime. This has been such a process this time as you have to do a hard copy along with on-line stuff as well. I will be very relieved when we are all done and can feel like we are starting the waiting process. So, if you know anyone that is pregnant and is interested in placing for adoption. Let me know, we appreciate all the support we have gotten from friends and family.
